Part Time - 22.5Hours
We have a fantasticopportunity for an experienced Oncology/Haematology Pharmacist tojoin our Pharmacy team at Oaks Hospital inColchester.
What therole involves:
* To work withConsultants in the production of new SACT protocols within thehospital and, working with the Lead Cancer Pharmacist and CancerPharmacists from other hospitals, checking of new SACTprotocols.
* To verify prescriptions for SACT andsupportive treatment.
* To support the ordering,storage, supply and billing of SACT, support to the training andaccreditation of staff carrying out these processes and to reviewand develop associated procedures.
* To supportcommunication of SACT treatment with patients and carers, providingspecialist input into patient information.
* Touse and support staff in the use of the SACT EPMA system within thehospital.
* To support the Lead Cancer Pharmacistin the development and deployment (within the hospital) of SACTassociated corporate policies, procedures, training and staffdevelopment programmes.
* To support thedevelopment of cancer pharmacy services and staff within thehospital.
* To review the management of SACTwithin the hospital through review of SACT audit, incidents andusage data to ensure SACT is used safely and cost-effectively.
* To work with and support other cancerservices pharmacists and pharmacy staff at other hospitals managingSACT in the delivery of cancer pharmacy services. To represent thehospital’s cancer pharmacy service on the SACTCommittee.
* To, where required, providepharmacist cover within the hospital outside of cancer services..
