To be part of, a field team, delivering to our customers in the UK and beyond a range of specialist services including under pressure drilling, flow stopping, fabrication, testing, in-line inspection, recompression and valve repair to facilitate safe and efficient Gas networks As a Craft person, you’ll help protect and maintain our National Transmission system working on high-pressure pipelines in the field, above ground installation and compressor stations. These compressor stations keep the gas flowing through our gas pipelines across the National Transmission System. Are you a multi-skilled problem solver who people can count on? If so, we’re looking for a co-worker like you We are looking for a Craft person, working as part of our operations team to help cover the UK & Ireland transmission gas network to take on the installation, inspection, commissioning, repair and maintenance of various equipment. Practical experience of operational work in one of the following disciplines would be preferred, under pressure drilling, flow stop, re-compression, in-line service inspection, pipe fitting, pressure systems inspections or damage assessment. Undertaking work within Safe Systems of Work including Risk Assessment Ability to use computerised systems for accessing information and inputting key data such as working time. Understanding of relevant discipline Legislative Requirements Understanding of Health & Safety Legislative Requirements Work closely with the NGS Technicians, Operations / Project Engineer to plan jobs and prepare all materials and equipment for transportation to job. As part of the team ensure all necessary authorisations are in place, all appropriate controls are in place i.e. Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Ensure all tools, equipment, and vehicles are safe, maintained, tested, and calibrated where required and all legislative requirements are complied with. Undertake depot duties which could include developing new techniques, safety inspections, fabrication and attendance/participate in meetings and committees on request. Participate in the NGS Standby Rota to provide pipeline emergency repair service (CEME). Possess relevant evidence of competencies to support skills, knowledge and experience This role will help protect and maintain the high-pressure systems in our compressor stations and above ground installations. These stations are the engines that power long-distance gas pipelines across the National Transmission System. Travel to various site locations is expected, as well as travel to training courses for competencies. What we are looking for We recognise we are a niche company, therefore don't worry if you do not meet 100% of the requirements because we know that there is a wealth of transferable skills out there. You will have previously completed an apprenticeship (or other recognised training scheme), hold a BTEC National Certificate (or equivalent City & Guilds NVQ/SVQ Level 3) in an Mechanical or transferable discipline or relevant industry time served knowledge and experience with supporting evidence.
