The successful applicant will assist with the daily smooth running of the dispensary, whilst acting in a specific mentoring role to Band 2 assistants and student work placements. Work will include labelling and assembling of clinically screened prescriptions for final checking as per Standard Operating Procedures. Main duties, tasks & skills required Receive prescription and ward/department requests, assess the urgency and act, accordingly, where necessary referring problems to a pharmacist, a technician, or the Dispensary Manager Receive prescriptions from outpatients, providing information on waiting times and other methods of supply in cases where items are out of stock. Interpret, label, and dispense inpatient, outpatient, and discharge prescriptions as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This will include oral cytotoxic prescriptions and Controlled Drugs (CD) prescriptions and requisitions. Carry out temperature monitoring of pharmacy areas and refrigerators and freezers. Carry out stock top ups to wards on a rotational basis. Assist with the receipt, issue, and stock checking of FP10 prescription pads.
