Salary: £100 - £115 per day
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday (08:30 - 16:30)
Contract: Full time, permanent

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. We’re looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a growing, specialist independent day school in the Devon area, supporting vulnerable students aged 5 - 16.

The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs - including Autism, attachment difficulties and trauma-related behaviours. Working closely with teachers and senior staff, you will assist in the delivery of engaging learning activities to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the planning and delivery of individualised and group learning programmes
* Promote student inclusion, emotional wellbeing and academic progress
* Create a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment
* Assist with behaviour regulation, routine management and classroom organisation
* Uphold safeguarding policies to ensure the welfare of all students
* Encourage independence and social development
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children and young people, ideally in an SEN or SEMH setting
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* A proactive, patient and empathetic approach
* Experience with children with additional needs (e.g ASC, SEMH, sensory processing disorders)
* Understanding of the challenges faced by students outside mainstream education
