Hours: 22.75 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time only)

The Governing Body of The Pear Tree Federation wishes to appoint a full-time temporary HLTA commencing on or as near to 1st January 2025 ending on 31st August 2025. The successful candidate will be awarded a joint federation contract and may be based in either Coryton or Tongwynlais Primary School. In the first instance this post will be based at Tongwynlais Primary School.
The main area of responsibility will be to support in the Early Years class at the school.
The successful candidate will:
• Work with the Reception class teacher, to be responsible for the Nursery setting including the management of other teaching assistants; the allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and support/training etc.
• co-plan, prepare, deliver and evaluate learning provision, activities and outcomes for Nursery-aged pupils.
• advance pupils’ learning and well-being in the Nursery setting.
This post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced check.
Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
