About Suffolk FA
Suffolk County FA is the not-for-profit governing body of football in Suffolk. We are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the grassroots game in the County, providing the vision, structure and support that enables our players, coaches, volunteers and referees to perform their roles and enjoy the beautiful game. We grow participation, promote diversity, and regulate the sport for everyone to enjoy. With over 330 clubs and 1800 teams, featuring players of all ages and abilities, Suffolk FA is proud to support football for all.
Job Title: Chief Executive Officer
Reporting To: Chair of the Board of Trustees
Direct Reports: The Senior Leadership Team, currently three direct reports
Location: Suffolk FA, Bill Steward House, The Buntings, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 5GZ
Remuneration: Up to £60,000 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week
Annual Leave: An initial 20-day annual leave entitlement, increasing with length of service, plus 8 bank holidays

Job Function: As CEO, you will be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day running of the charitable organisation, developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to position Suffolk County FA for long-term growth and community impact.
Reporting to the Chair and Board of Trustees, you will oversee the effective execution of their ‘new’ Suffolk County FA 2024-2028 Strategy ‘Driving the Local Game’, ensuring all activities comply with the FA’s Code of Governance and best practices. Your work will drive commercial revenue, foster key relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, reinvestment into grassroots football, and lead the expansion of our influence across Suffolk’s football landscape. This role requires a leader who can balance financial sustainability with our commitment to the FA’s Code of Governance, ensuring high standards of integrity, accountability, and inclusivity.
