The key purposes of this role are to provide IT and Finance support to the finance function and ensure that an up-to-date, fit-for-purpose finance and procurement system is available for use throughout the Group.
In addition, this role will be required to develop and support system changes throughout the Group, through the capital programme or where there is a direct impact on finance e.g. Third-party solutions such as stock management systems. The post holder will have direct line responsibility for one person, the assistant systems development officer.

Education / Knowledge / Experience
Essential Criteria
1. Educated to degree level
2. Good accounting knowledge (NVQ level 5 / AAT / Other professional body)
3. 3 Years NHS Financial Services and Systems experience in the NHS or equivalent large organisation
4. Demonstrate knowledge and experience of building and using databases, preferably Oracle, SQL and MS Access
5. Demonstrate knowledge and experience of reporting tools, preferably Power BI and Business Objects
6. An ability to analyse complex financial and performance data and draw appropriate conclusions
7. Experience of change management in relation to system and/or process change
8. A good communicator with an ability to work effectively with all levels of staff
Desirable Criteria
1. In-depth experience of Financial Software, preferably within the NHS
2. Detailed knowledge and experience of using non-finance systems including stock management and procurement packages
3. Use of software applications such as MS Office solutions, Power Query, Power Automate
4. An ability to analyse complex financial and performance data and draw appropriate conclusions

If you need to have a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, as a requirement of the role, you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check (£50), and this amount will be reclaimed from your first salary. From 1st February 2019, all new starters to the Trust are required to join the DBS update service as per Trust DBS Re-checking Policy, which has an annual cost of £13. New employees who do not join the update service will be required to pay £50 for a new DBS check in three years' time.
Please note that new starters with KGH are subject to a six-month probationary period.
