What will you be doing?
We're seeking a talented individual to join our Business Tax team as an assistant manager in Tunbridge Wells, responsible for tax compliance and advisory services for a wide range of business clients. The primary responsibility will be to manage a portfolio of clients and assist Managers and Senior Managers in delivering client work. You will also be involved in special assignments and advisory projects on an ad hoc basis.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive the delivery of advisory and compliance services on a day-to-day basis.
* Manage client accounts and relationships, providing exceptional client service and maintaining regular contact with the client team.
* Budgeting and monitoring compliance fees.
* Liaison with senior team members, including Partners and Directors when required.
* Conduct appraisals, monitor staff performance, and provide on-the-job training and mentoring for junior staff.
* Ensure procedures are followed, taking into account institute and HMRC guidance, where relevant.
* Ensure department KPIs are met regarding billing and recovery targets.
Qualifications
Key Skills and Experience
* Relevant tax experience gained within the profession or industry.
* Technically capable tax adviser able to assist in complex client work.
* Some staff management, mentoring, or supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate staff for optimal performance.
* Demonstrable ability to organize self and others to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
* Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, directors, staff, and other professionals.
* Proven project management skills and experience managing a small client portfolio.
