Each of the six Historic Royal Palaces in their care has a fascinating story to tell. As an Assistant Digital Producer, you will support their ambition to reach and engage more people nationally and internationally with compelling digital content that brings the stories of their palaces to life and shares the work our charity does in caring for them. In this role you will assist in the research, planning and production of high-quality video and podcast content aimed at a variety of audiences across multiple channels, including but not limited to, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, their website and digital installations as part of exhibitions at the palaces. You will work as a member of the Digital Engagement department in the Public Engagement directorate alongside a dynamic and dedicated team of digital professionals who produce and manage a broad range of products, projects and content including: the charity’s website, YouTube, podcasts, online courses, the Digital Visitor Guide (DVG), virtual tours, apps and partnerships with organisations such as Google Arts & Culture. They are looking for an Assistant Producer or experienced Researcher with at least three years’ professional experience in film and/or audio production who will bring enthusiasm, new ideas and production skills to this high performing team. From researching the fascinating history of the palaces and meticulously planning productions, to supporting content capture on location and in studio, there will be many opportunities to contribute your expertise to help deliver this important area of their work. To succeed in this role, you will need to be an experienced researcher who is confident at researching factual topics using diverse sources of information such as publications, image libraries, archives and subject experts. Your creative spark will enable you to translate your research into ideas for videos, podcasts, and series of content. Your planning and production skills are particularly important to them. You will be able to demonstrate your experience of co-ordinating and safely managing film shoots and audio recordings that take place on-location and in studio, including preparing production paperwork such as schedules, risk assessments and call sheets. You will also have experience of sourcing and booking contributors and crew. A good understanding of YouTube and podcast channels and how to engage audiences through them is essential. You will be responsible for uploading and managing content online, so your knowledge of these channels and how to maximise the reach and engagement of our content through good SEO practices is key to this role. Experience of using AV production equipment and editing software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (Audition, Premier Pro, Photoshop) is also an advantage.
