Job Advertisement: Supplier Development Engineer Location: Lymington, Hampshire Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience) Hours: 37.5 hours per week Our client, a leading precision engineering company, is seeking a proactive Supplier Development Engineer to enhance and strengthen their supply chain operations. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement product control plans with measurable KPIs to track supplier performance and compliance. Design and deliver an effective supplier development strategy tailored to key suppliers. Collaborate with suppliers to implement Lean techniques and remove waste while maintaining compliance with company standards. Monitor and improve supplier on-time delivery and quality performance through regular reviews and feedback. Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing performance statistics and facilitating corrective and preventive actions. Conduct supplier audits and assist in qualifying new components and suppliers. Work closely with internal teams to ensure supplier processes align with quality and delivery expectations. Lead supplier reviews to address current and future requirements and improvement opportunities. Drive cost reduction, inventory optimisation, and lead-time improvements within the supply chain. About You: Essential Experience and Skills: Demonstrated experience in developing and sustaining programmes to meet Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) requirements. Strong knowledge of supply chain improvement tools (e.g., Control Plans, PFMEA, KPIs, SPC, and process mapping). Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and internal teams. Excellent communication skills for both verbal interactions and documentation. Self-motivated with strong time management and organisational abilities. Proficient in IT tools, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Desirable Experience and Qualifications: Familiarity with MRP or ERP systems. HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent qualification. AS9100 or ISO Auditor training.
