To work under the direction of the Clinical Director(s) and clinical co-director to co-ordinate and deliver the strategic and operational aspects of critical care services and those of another specialty (anaesthesia, emergency or acute medicine) to the population served by the Trust. These will reflect National and Local priorities including the strategic direction of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS FT. You are expected to be on the GMC Specialist Register for Intensive Care Medicine at the time of Appointment. Consultant performance is monitored within the Directorate and strong emphasis is given to personal career development, in-line with clinical governance. All consultants must comply with Trust policy for revalidation and job planning. You are expected to attend the monthly Clinical Governance Day and ICM meetings.
