Salary: A competitive salary from £57,600 - £86,400 depending on the experience you can bring. We are currently hiring for a Database Administration Manager to join our team in Edinburgh or Witham. In this role, you will support the delivery of the Environment Operations departmental strategy - which is to provide a highly available and stable technology estate in a complex control environment. The role will be responsible for BAU activities, whilst ensuring focus on the progression of process automation, adoption of new database practices and the continual improvement of the control environment. The role holder will require both a strong technical understanding across a wide range of technical skill sets, with a focus on Database Administration. You will lead a team which consists of Lead, Senior and Analyst Database Administrators across our Edinburgh and Witham locations. You will continue to embed an Automation first approach into the Aegon UK DBA function, seeking further opportunities for automation where appropriate. We’d love to hear from you if you have: Experience and knowledge of process automation, cloud adoption, performance improvements and service availability improvements. Previous experience administering and supporting complex Database estates. Experience supporting one or more of the following Database technologies: (Microsoft SQL Server / Oracle / DB2 / PostGres / MySQL). Experience with scripting languages pertinent for automation. Experience with supporting Windows and/or Linux operating systems. Knowledge or experience with AWS is desirable. A fundamental knowledge of ITIL processes and how they are applied within an IT Service management department. Experience of working in complex, large scale, Technology environments - ideally within Financial Services. Experience in management roles. Software Development Life Cycle and Change Management.
