Weybourne Group is the holding company for the Dyson technology company, Dyson Farming, and other diverse business interests. Outside the operating businesses, Weybourne manages an investment portfolio and provides financial and other professional support to the Dyson Family, their estates, and personal business interests. The group covers a wide range of sectors including farming, financial and commercial property investments and residential property.
The Finance Manager will work with the Head of Family Finance and the rest of the Family Finance team to support the Family’s personal finance, private businesses and charities. The role is based in a fast-paced Family Office and involves a high degree of collaboration with Family members’ PAs/support staff as well as teams within the wider Family Office.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee Family personal cashflows, business and charity accounting, including reviews of reconciliations, monthly/quarterly management reporting and implementation of controls where a weakness is identified.
* Ensure the maintenance of robust cash flow forecasts, both personal and business, to enable appropriate planning of cash deposits, investments, banking arrangements and other expenditures, ensuring that messages to the Family are aligned. Work alongside the Family Investment Manager to select appropriate investments, in line with each Family member’s cash management strategy.
* Oversee liquidity for Family members, including ensuring there is an appropriate balance between liquidity and return and appropriate FX provisions are in place.
* Support or oversee the preparation of the information and analysis for meetings with Family members including the production of personal accounts, analysis and forecasts, including attendance at relevant meetings.
* Oversee the production of information for personal and business tax compliance purposes, including reviewing VAT returns.
* Provide Finance Business Partner support to the Family businesses (to the extent that they require it) by attending business meetings, presenting financial reports and analysis, and providing corporate financial advice to the Family.
* Coordinate and oversee the production and review of statutory accounts for all Family businesses and Trusts.
* Review and support preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts prepared by business managers.
* Ensure a statement of assets is maintained for each Family member to ensure their financial position is clearly understood, monitored, and updated.
* Production of financial information for royalty reporting biannually.
* Streamline and improve processes in all areas of Family Finance.
* Address ad hoc queries from Family members and their support staff and ensure consistent and reliable service is provided to the Family.
* Work alongside the Head of Family Finance in the production of the Group Cash Flow reporting and Strategic Plan, to provide resilience across the wider team

* Proactively promoting and maintaining high standards of work – taking initiative to resolve and/or draw attention to areas that don’t meet required standards or any issues that arise.

Requirements
* Qualified accountant with 2-5 years PQE.
* Previous experience in a role reporting to senior management.
* Commitment to meeting demanding reporting deadlines.
* Excellent organisational/prioritisation skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to multitask and to recognise the importance of sharing relevant information when necessary, within the wider Family Office.
* Computer literate, with good skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience of an ERP system desirable.
* Confident communication skills, with the ability to interact with individuals from a range of backgrounds.
* Willing and able to take responsibility and ownership for tasks.
* Ability to work autonomously when required, whilst still possessing strong teamwork skills.
* Strong sense of discretion, appreciating the confidentiality of the work.
