Wi-Fi Network Engineer. North East Roc Technologies provides industry-leading, transformative IT services to both public and private sector organisations across the UK. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Wi-Fi Network Engineer to join our professional services team. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining Wi-Fi networks for a diverse range of clients, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. The Wi-Fi Network Engineer will have a strong understanding of wireless technologies, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. We have several exciting opportunities in Wi-Fi design and are looking to build and expand our professional services team in this area. The initial placement will be full-time in the North East Responsibilities: Design and deploy Wi-Fi networks for various environments, including offices, retail spaces, higher education, and industrial sites. Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine network requirements and optimal placement of access points. Configure and optimise wireless network equipment, including routers, switches, and access points. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure seamless operation. Collaborate with clients to understand their specific network needs and provide tailored solutions. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in wireless technology and recommend improvements to existing networks. Provide technical support and training to clients and team members as required. Our Wi-Fi Network Engineer will have: Strong knowledge of wireless networking protocols, standards, and technologies (e.g., IEEE 802.11, Wi-Fi 6). Proficiency with network design tools and software such as Ekahau and Hamina. Experience configuring and troubleshooting network equipment. Hands-on experience with Juniper, Aruba, and Cisco. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Team player with excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Must be flexible to travel and hold a valid UK drivers licence Desirable: Experience working in Higher Education, Retail, MOD, or Government sectors. SC or DV Clearance (current or previous). Previous training and experience in designing Wi-Fi solutions, including desktop design, site validation, installation design, and fault analysis. Strong networking design and creation skills.
