The Role
You will be responsible for further maturing and embedding MAG’s Group-wide Enterprise Risk Management Framework. You’ll ensure that the framework and associated processes clearly link to MAG’s strategic aims and complex legal and regulatory requirements.
You’ll have overall responsibility for ensuring that MAG’s Audit Committee, ExCo, local Airport Boards (Manchester, East Midlands & London Stansted) and the CAVU Leadership Team have a clear, accurate and current view of the risk profile of the organisation and associated mitigation strategies. You’ll be responsible for developing a fit for purpose Risk Strategy, encompassing the future vision for ERM at MAG, taking into account the overall strategic direction of the Group and the move towards becoming a data-driven organisation. You’ll lead the team and the business towards the use of data to enhance risk register quality, scoring and reporting.
You’ll also use your extensive knowledge and experience to ensure that MAG remains at the forefront of innovation and quality when it comes to the implementation of ERM, working as a trusted and valued strategic partner for senior officers throughout the organisation. Your 2nd Line Group Risk team will provide first-class, value-added insight and guidance on all matters relating to risk management and internal control.
What will make you successful in this role?
You’ll be a qualified Risk professional (IRM), Internal Audit practitioner (CIIA), or accountant (ACA, ACCA) with a minimum 6 years’ PQE and previous experience of leading a team as a Head of Risk.
You’ll also have a proven track record of developing and delivering ERM Frameworks for complex organisations and a sound technical knowledge of risk management and its application in commercial and operational environments, as well as a sound knowledge and experience of the use of data analytics in effective risk management and mitigation.
You’ll be an effective communicator and influencer with the ability to produce high quality, insightful reports and presentations. Experience of selection and implementation of Risk / GRC systems will also be a significant advantage.
