Job Role
To lead the consultancy team to deliver a range of pavement engineering projects for various clients throughout the UK.
Duties
1. Manage the day-to-day coordination and review of design, documentation for projects, manage design workflow including compiling relevant reports.
2. Responsible for the development and preparation of optimised bespoke pavement designs and specifications.
3. Manage internal and external resources to achieve required programme and budget.
4. Liaise closely, develop and build long term relationships with a diverse client base.
5. Prepare technical and commercial documents, control and report progress of work.
6. Understand the condition of the pavement asset, including the interpretation of UKPMS survey data and identify areas needing improvement.
7. Ensure designs and reports are appropriate and meet the expected levels of technical excellence.
8. Assist in the provision of pavement advice for other disciplines and design and construction activities.
9. Seek innovation in the delivery of schemes and techniques used to design and construct.
10. Represent the company on organisational bodies, to further support the company’s position within the market.
11. Support business development activities, to support the Group’s strategy.
Person Specification
1. Scientific or engineering degree.
2. Chartered Membership (or working towards) of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
3. Expertise in pavement materials.
4. Good knowledge of pavement evaluation and maintenance.
5. Good knowledge of pavement construction, quality and evaluation techniques.
6. Ability to design and lead forensic pavement investigations.
7. Good working knowledge of current design standards and specifications.
8. Familiarity with asset management systems & pavement condition surveys.
9. Sound knowledge and understanding of pavement design principles and pavement materials.
10. Knowledge and understanding of Pavement Life Cycle Cost analysis and pavement management systems.
11. Ability to work well as part of a close-knit diverse team.
12. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues.
13. Ability to fully understand, explain, present and solve complex technical problems for technical and non-technical audiences.
14. Ability to plan and control the pavement team resources to deliver projects on time and to budget.
15. Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills.
16. Solid IT skills.
17. Full driving licence.

Hours: Full Time - 37.5 - Monday to Friday
