Dassault Falcon Jet is building a state-of-the-art flagship Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the Melbourne Orlando International Airport (KMLB) in Melbourne, Florida. Dassault Falcon Jet will serve customers across North and South America and beyond. The complex will accommodate all current Falcon models, including the new ultra-long-range Falcon 10X, the largest purpose-built business jet, and will be capable of performing major maintenance and modifications on up to 18 Falcon models.
Dassault Falcon Jet in Melbourne, Florida is seeking one full-time Aviation Maintenance Estimator who will be primarily responsible for the preparation of an approved proposal to provide to a Regional Sales Manager (RSM) for delivery to a customer. This involves the compilation of labor hours, material estimates, and service requirements, entering the information into the company system, and obtaining the appropriate approvals.
In addition, the Estimator will interface with multiple positions within the company and outside vendors to obtain work scope definition, material lists, and labor estimates. Once the proposal is completed, they will monitor the proposal through the approval process and ultimately deliver it to the RSM.
Responsibilities:
* Create and implement inspection, service bulletin, and modification estimates by providing base cost estimates (labor hours, material, and services) for all inspections, installations, projects, or products relating to maintenance, as specified in the Customer Specifications and Sales Requests.
* Maintain close communication with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Scheduling, and Dassault Customer Services for continuous maintenance and development of installations, inspection, and service bulletin product roadmap and portfolio.
* Work with vendors to improve relationships and product partnerships.
* Assist in defining, implementing, and continuously improving the product development processes.
* Ensure products are consistently created and maintained in the company system.
* Update Sales & Marketing with information on new products, upcoming products, and changes with vendors.
* Work with appropriate departments as required to assure consideration of all pertinent facts for accurate specifications and estimates and ensure accuracy and completeness of materials and components, including technical terminology and costs.
* Maintain an up-to-date list of costs of materials to be used in proposal estimates. In addition, collect and maintain actual to estimated job files.
* Maintain complete files on all Customer Specifications and estimates created.
* Work closely with Operations to develop estimates on labor hours per task, turn-time, and material/services requirements, lead time, and scheduled events flat rates.
* Work closely with buyers to acquire current lead time on critical parts.
* Review products in development to anticipate possible marketing opportunities, scheduling, and financial impact.
* Recommend lead time and down time required based on manpower in the requested facility.
* Create preliminary and final customer proposals for presentation to the RSM and customer.
* Adhere to Dassault Aircraft Services General Work Rules and ethics.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working in a customer service-oriented environment.
* Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience with aircraft airframe maintenance.
* Written and verbal skills in developing and explaining technical airframe work scopes.
* Planning and organizational skills are necessary to prioritize and coordinate workload within a multi-task setting.
* Skilled in researching methods for obtaining technical information.
* Working knowledge of Service Bulletins and other technical documents.
* Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs, OCIP, and Chapter 5 maintenance.
* Working knowledge of customer maintenance programs, procedures, and instructions.
* Computer skills necessary to learn and/or operate MS Office programs, databases, email, web-based applications, and Falcon Jet Customer Services specific software (i.e. Corridor).
* Working knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, for example, part 91, 135, and 145, and other certification requirements such as STC, TC, EASA, and 8110 approval bases.
* Interpersonal skills necessary to interface, establish, and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees, management, vendors, and customers.
* Ability to articulate product benefits while interfacing with Customers and our Sales team.
