Microsoft Intune Engineer – End User Computing

Have you successfully planned & built end user computing services before? As a Microsoft Intune Engineer you will play a key role in idea generation & implementation of services & technologies used to manage & support endpoints.
You will function as part of the Technology Experience team within the Europe IT team managing IT infrastructure at Laing O'Rourke.
The Role:
We are looking for a Microsoft Intune engineer with good technical skills and a willingness to engage & learn to improve our End User Computing landscape.
Essential functions:
Device Management
* Enrolment: Manage device enrolment processes, ensuring devices are properly registered with Intune.
* Configuration: Maintain device configuration profiles to set policies, restrictions, and security settings.
* Compliance: Monitor device compliance with defined policies and take corrective actions as needed.
* Device Wipe and Reset: Initiate device wipe or reset procedures when necessary (e.g., in case of loss, theft, or compliance violations).
* Windows Autopilot: Knowledge of Autopilot endpoint deployments, configuration and management.
* Troubleshooting: Resolve device-related issues, such as enrolment failures, connectivity problems, or policy conflicts.
Application Packaging & Management
* Packaging: IntuneWin packaging skills. Knowledge of SCCM package migration desirable.
* Deployment: Deploy Intune line-of-business (LOB) and third-party applications to managed devices.
* Updates: Manage Intune application updates.
* App Protection: Maintain app protection policies to safeguard sensitive data.
* Company Portal/App Catalogs: Maintain Company Portal & app catalogs for distribution.
Windows Update for Business / Patching
* Windows Update for Business/AutoPatch: manage patch & system update environment. Help ensure that devices are up to date with patches & updates.
* Microsoft & 3rd Party application updates: manage application update environment.
User Experience and Support
* User Onboarding: Assist users with device enrolment and application setup.
* Support: Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support for Intune related issues and questions.
* Education & awareness: Provide guidance for employees on Intune features, best security practices and the importance of compliance.
Monitoring and Reporting
* Monitoring: Monitor Intune health and performance, identifying potential issues proactively.
* Reporting: Generate reports on Intune usage, device compliance, and security metrics. Knowledge of Log Analytics, KQL.
Desirable knowledge:
Intune Security and Compliance
* Device Compliance Monitoring: Regularly monitor device compliance against predefined policies. Identify non-compliant devices and resolve.
* Threat Detection and Response: Work closely with the security team to monitor for and respond to security threats.
* Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Enforcement: Ensure that DLP policies, configured by the security team, are effectively enforced on managed devices. Investigate DLP alerts and taking appropriate actions, such as blocking data transfer or revoking device access.
* Conditional Access Enforcement: Ensure that conditional access policies, defined by the security team, are applied correctly to managed devices and users. Troubleshoot issues related to conditional access enforcement.
* Security Reporting: Provide data and insights to the security team for reporting and analysis.
Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM
Personal Attributes
* 3+ years enterprise IT experience in a relevant technical role
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to communicate technical information and ideas to diverse audiences
* Familiarity with ITIL practices and the ITIL Service life cycle
