About the Opportunity The Facility Manager - EMEA is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operations of multiple buildings across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). This role includes leading projects for the development and construction of new buildings, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and managing a team of office assistants. You have a strong background in facility management, project management, and a proven ability to lead and motivate a team. This role can be based in our UK office in Maidstone or our Portugal office in Boavista. Responsibilities KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS The Facility Manager - EMEA is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and operations of multiple buildings across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). This role includes leading projects for the development and construction of new buildings, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and managing a team of office assistants. You have a strong background in facility management, project management, and a proven ability to lead and motivate a team. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Facility Operations Management: Oversee daily operations of multiple buildings across the EMEA region, ensuring all facilities are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with local regulations. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for all facilities. Coordinate with local contractors and service providers for facility repairs and maintenance. Manage security, cleaning, and other facility services. Create long term maintenance plans for all facilities and align this with different stakeholders (IS, Finance, CC holders) Create a sustainability plan and approach for the buildings and internal use of buildings Project Management: Lead projects for the construction and development of new buildings, from initial planning to completion. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. Obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance with all local building codes and regulations. Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources. Team Leadership: Manage and provide direction to office assistants, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team members are adequately supported. Financial Management: Prepare and manage the annual budget for facility operations and projects. Track and report on facility-related expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement efficient solutions. Plan and analyze future investment needs and align with the Finance functionality and business owners for appropriate approvals Compliance and Safety: Ensure all facilities comply with health and safety regulations. Act on compliance reports and audits to ensure continuous improvement on Safety in our facilities. Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all facility-related matters in the EMEA region. Communicate effectively with senior management, tenants, and external stakeholders. Provide regular updates and reports on facility status, projects, and budgets. Candidate Profile Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in facility management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing multiple buildings/ countries. Proven experience in managing construction and development projects. Strong understanding of local building codes, regulations, and compliance requirements across the EMEA region. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office and facility management software. Ability to travel within the EMEA region as required. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or equivalent certification. Experience working in a multinational organization. Fluency in one or more languages spoken in the EMEA region. Working Conditions: Full-time position which can be based in the UK or Portugal Office and on-site work required. Travel within the EMEA region as needed.
