The Role
Are you ready to make a real impact from day one at HMP Millsike? We’re thrilled to offer a unique opportunity to join us in establishing a new prison estate near York, set to open in Spring 2025. As an Engagement and Resettlement Facilitator, you will play a vital role in introducing prisoners to education and work pathways, promoting positive personal development, and fostering a supportive environment.
As an Engagement and Resettlement Facilitator, you will:
Lead Inductions and Assessments: Welcome new prisoners and guide them through assessments, such as Maths, English, and the Do-It Profiler, to support their education journey.
Motivate and Support Prisoners: Encourage engagement with development plans and provide pastoral support to overcome barriers, guiding each prisoner toward successful resettlement.
Foster Collaborative Rehabilitation: Work closely with CIAG and other teams to structure each prisoner’s journey, ensuring consistent support and development.
Promote Accountability with Restorative Practices: Model restorative techniques that encourage prisoners to take responsibility for their actions, fostering self-improvement and positive change.
Requirements:
Relevant qualifications in education, coaching, or mentoring (e.g., Level 3 certificate in coaching or similar).
Level 2 in Maths & English.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Experience in coaching or teaching in adult learning settings is desirable, with a willingness to train in restorative practices.
