Our client is recruiting a India Product Manager who will be responsible for the commercial and operational success of the India programme.
You will be responsible for identifying and taking advantage of the considerable potential for growth and for developing the programme in the years ahead.
They need you to identify areas of development based on client research, market analysis and sales/cost projections.
Another area of the role is to be responsible for organising effective working processes with offices abroad, increasing mutual efficiencies and cooperation going forward.
Ensuring that the quality of the product provided in terms of services and accommodation is of the requisite high standard.
You will be determining the destinations and itineraries for the annual brochure tour programme, negotiating and contracting rates and services with agents, airlines, hotels, and costing the programme; assisting in sourcing and selecting brochure images and writing product copy.
In the role, you should ensure that tour prices are competitive and that all tours are commercially viable.
Key Skills/Experience Needed:
* Good knowledge of product in India & the Indian Subcontinent
* Broad travel experience in the Indian Subcontinent
* Ability to manage relationships both externally and internally
* Experience of managing teams is an advantage.
* Proven ability to be creative and innovative in work
* Proven ability to communicate accurately, concisely, confidently and intelligently, both verbally and in writing
* Proven ability to prioritise work requirements and work under own initiative
* Proven ability to work within company procedures and policies as part of a team
* Educated to degree level – although if more experienced in work will consider educated to ‘A’ level standard
* Minimum 2 years experience in planning and costing a programme of tours
* Experience of costing and managing the profitability of a programme
* Organised and methodical
* The ability to work to deadlines
* Mature attitude to work
* Proven ability to negotiate with outside suppliers and organizations
* Experience of dealing with the needs of different internal departments
* Experience of CRS an advantage
