REPORTING TO: Principal Ecologist or Environment and Planning Manager
WORK BASE: Bath, with travel to projects / sites across the region (this includes Somerset, Wiltshire, Dorset and South Gloucestershire).
BACKGROUND:
Working for the Environment and Planning team, which includes the Ecology Team, providing a wide range of environmental support to engineering and construction colleagues to facilitate the delivery of our capital programme.
You will deliver a range of services including ecological survey, ecological impact assessment, and protected species work, through to mitigation and construction support. The ecology team supports a diverse range of projects and enjoys the satisfaction of working on the projects from outline design through to completion.
JOB ROLE:
To undertake ecological assessments of capital programme schemes and provide ecological advice to engineering, construction and operational staff to ensure that WW meets current legislation and company environmental policy in the development of assets.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Competent in UKHab and protected species appraisal surveys.
* Experience of working with key groups of protected species (great crested newts).
* Good ecological report writing skills.
* Experience of working on construction sites.
* Clean driving licence and access to own transport essential.
* 3 years+ relevant experience preferable.
* A pro-active and flexible approach with a focus on successful project delivery.
* Good IT skills and experience of GIS systems.
You must be able to demonstrate proof of skills gained and eligibility to work in the UK.
