Divisional Director of Operations
* Agenda for Change - Band 9 £105,385 to £121,271.
* Full time, permanent
* Location – This role will be focusing on the Kent system but may be required to work across our organisation as needed.
Do you want to be at the forefront of transforming 999 field operations, ensuring the highest levels of patient safety, clinical quality, and operational efficiency?
We are looking for a dynamic leader to work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and senior leadership team, supporting our Operating Unit Managers and broader multi-disciplinary colleagues in shaping the future of pre-hospital emergency care across Secamb, and leading work with the Kent Integrated Care System to enhance our UEC pathways.
This role would suit an experienced leader who is looking to take on a more strategic role as well as demonstrate their exceptional delivery and collaboration skills.
Main duties of the job
As Divisional Director of Operations, you will be expected to:
* Lead the operational and strategic direction of the division, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes and timely urgent and emergency response, supporting the delivery of the SECAmb strategy.
* Oversee a £50m service portfolio, ensuring financial sustainability and performance excellence.
* Drive innovation in service improvement, technology adoption, and workforce development.
* Build strong system-wide partnerships across NHS and community stakeholders to enhance integrated care.
* Represent SECAmb at a senior level, acting as a public figure, demonstrating inclusive, effective, and appropriate behaviours in line with Trust values, both in day-to-day operations and in high profile, complex and difficult situations.
* Be part of a strategic on-call leadership rota, making critical decisions in dynamic scenarios.
* Work closely with your matrix senior leadership team and with the other Divisions and wider executive and leaders across the organisation, in delivering effective, sustainable patient care.
The DDO will have accountability for the delivery of the division’s clinical operations, ensuring the effective implementation of national and local strategies and the delivery of service objectives within available resources on all sites (both within and outside the trust) within the remit of the division.

Please note that the salary range noted on the vacancy is in line with agenda for change (AFC) pay scales. All successful applicants would be placed automatically at the bottom of the banding, unless proven, relevant NHS or equivalent experience can be demonstrated.
Following the revision of current national legislation (Vaccine as a Condition of Deployment), the Trust has reviewed our requirements relating to staff uptake of the SARS-COV-2 (COVID-19) vaccination.
Going forward, for patient facing positions, we strongly recommend that new starters will be appropriately vaccinated unless medically exempt in order to offer greater protection against exposure to the virus for front line staff.
