Role: Mobile Shredding Operative - Field Based (class two HGV)
Location: Birmingham base with weekly national travel (requirements to stay away, dependent on customer needs)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Package: £30,000 plus large company benefits, a broad flexible benefits scheme, and 2 paid-for volunteering days a year
Hours: Monday to Friday - Flexibility required, hours dependent on customer requirements

Role purpose:
Work as part of an on-site field team to deliver a wide variety of IT services from the SCC portfolio. Activities to include secure shredding, data erasure, decommissioning, asset management, site surveys and degaussing (full training shall be given). On site engineers are required to deliver IT services within an agreed time frame at customer sites in accordance with work activities identified in pre-written method statements.
When not on site, engineers will be expected to work in the Recycling Services facility to assist with daily operational activities.
Full UK Driving Licence & Category C (Class 2) is required for this role.
Key responsibilities:
* Achieve key performance indicators and targets, thereby ensuring the maximum productivity whilst maintaining efficiency and quality.
* Adhere to specific customer health and safety security protocols.
* Undertake any training programs in regard to all processes and procedures, ensuring skills sets are retained to deliver all required services.
* Ensure a high level of security awareness is maintained.
* Maintain a high level of housekeeping when on customer site or at the facility.
* Project a pro-active and positive attitude when communicating with external/internal customers.
* Drive the 12T truck to customer sites and carry out shredding using the onboard hydraulic shredding equipment.
* Reconcile IT assets against customer provided inventories.
* Dismantle IT equipment to remove data-bearing components in preparation for shredding.
* Decommission IT equipment from customer sites including de-racking from server rooms and office clear-outs.
* Carry out deliveries and collections, as required.
* Process units in a customer environment within agreed OLA’s/SLA’s, with intense focus on data security and keen attention to detail.
* Be flexible and at times, work outside standard working hours when demanded by the scope of a job, including overnight stays.
Skills and experience:
* Security Clearance or the willingness to apply.
* Excellent customer facing skills.
* Full UK Driving Licence plus Category C Licence.
* Previous Shredding experience would be advantageous.
* Able to work independently.
* Good overall IT knowledge.
