Job Title: Early Years Assessor
Based: Glasgow Office/Peripatetic working
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 per year (plus mileage allowance)
Job type: Full-time (36 hours per week, 5 days a week)

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Early Years Assessor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, supporting, and guiding early years apprentice practitioners through their qualifications. Your expertise will help ensure they meet the national standards for early years education.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a caseload of around 30 apprentices, working towards their qualification in SSCYP @ SCQF level 7.
2. Conduct regular assessments of learners’ knowledge and skills, observing and evaluating their practical abilities in the early years’ environment.
3. Provide tailored feedback and support to candidates to help them progress in their studies and professional development.
4. Track and document learners' progress, ensuring timely submission of all required reports and assessment paperwork.
5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with candidates and employers, providing advice and guidance throughout the assessment process.
6. Organise and document assessments, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
7. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the standards set by awarding bodies.
8. Stay current with developments in early childhood education to ensure assessment practices are aligned with industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Assessor Qualification (L&D9i) or equivalent (experience of delivering for a minimum of 3 years).
2. Internal Verifier qualification (L&D11) would be an advantage but not a must.
3. Applicants must have a driving license with their own car, and willingness to travel.
4. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualified nursery practitioner.
5. Assessors should be accommodating to different learning styles/additional support needs.
6. Must be forward-thinking, organised and work well without supervision.
7. Meet SSSC registration requirements for practitioner role.
8. Our successful assessor must be highly motivated to work alone for parts of their day, communicate with the team daily via virtual methods, and meet regularly.
9. Good ICT skills are essential.
