They have recently opened a children’s home in South Shields, providing a safe and nurturing environment for four children aged 8-18 who have experienced trauma, mental health challenges, and self-harm/suicidal thoughts. They are currently seeking a dedicated residential childcare worker who is eager to grow within the organisation, with opportunities to advance to senior positions and beyond. Day-to-day of the role: Respond to the identified needs of children and young people as outlined in individual care plans. Work collaboratively with young people, their families, social workers, and other relevant agencies. Ensure compliance with legislative, procedural, and good practice requirements. Prioritise the safety and welfare of young people. Participate in the implementation, monitoring, and review of care, health, and education plans. Act as a key worker to individual young people as required. Safeguard and promote the welfare and rights of children and young people. Maintain a comfortable physical environment in line with standards and guidance. Communicate effectively with colleagues and professionals. Undertake administrative tasks and record-keeping. Required Skills & Qualifications: At least 1 year of UK experience in residential childcare. Full UK License and own transport. NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (for children/young people) or equivalent. Proficiency in Maths & English. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection. Good communication skills.
