The Senior Research Scientist role plays a pivotal role in advancing enzyme-based solutions for food applications, leveraging analytical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic vision to drive research, development, and intellectual property management initiatives within the business.
We are looking for a candidate with demonstrable expertise in diary/non-dairy including fresh-fermented, neutral and frozen in particular.
Key responsibilities
1. Developing novel enzyme applications related to dairy/non-dairy, and tailored to address both emerging and established
customer needs;
2. Pioneering the development of analytical cutting-edge techniques by leveraging appropriate
technologies;
3. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enhance knowledge and expertise in the
utilization of enzymes in production processes and understanding customer requirements;
4. Conducting independently tests and analyses using diverse methodologies (e.g. GCMS, UV-vis,
HPLC), adeptly resolving inherent challenges, and presenting comprehensive reports detailing
methodologies, findings, and pertinent information;
5. Maintaining meticulous records of project and experimental activities in the laboratory;
6. Cultivating a collaborative relationship with scientific staff.
7. Strategically selecting and customizing optimal analytical methods and techniques from a range of possibilities;
8. Providing training to laboratory personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge;
9. Upholding a well-organized laboratory environment, including equipment, instruments, and
related apparatus;
10. Adhering rigorously to safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and supply management,
while serving as the Health and Safety manager for the laboratory;
Knowledge and Experience
Master’s degree or higher in Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Processing, or a related
scientific field, with a strong background in enzyme applications.
• >5 years' experience in commercial or academic labs.
• Profound understanding of chemical characteristics, formulations, and their impact on food
properties.
• Demonstrated expertise in food analytical methodologies (HPLC, GC, and/or MS) for product
development.
• Familiarity with general food industry production processes and requirements.
• Experience in application/product development, analysis, and patent-related activities within the food production industry in forementioned disciplines
• Understanding of enzymes and their applications in the food industry is advantageous
