The Position As Senior Product Owner for our Research High-Performance Compute (HPC) team, you will play a crucial role in driving our digital research initiatives forward by providing technical guidance to both the product team and stakeholders and driving value stream mapping initiatives to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency within our HPC processes. Other key responsibilities will include: Systematically managing stakeholder relationships, gathering feature requests and user stories to ensure that the needs of researchers and data scientists are clearly understood and prioritized Collaborating with the product team, architect and lead engineer, to generate strategic product roadmaps that align with our long-term goals Preparing and participating in Product Increment (PI) planning sessions Prioritizing and managing the product backlog by logically organizing feature requests Ensuring effective communication across all product stakeholders It is an individual contributor position with office presence at King’s Cross, which would be anticipated 3 days per week. Qualifications We are looking for a candidate who will present experience and knowledge in: Strategic Vision alignment with the ability to develop and communicate a strategic vision for the HPC team, ensuring alignment with broader organizational research objectives Proven product ownership experience, with proficiency in Agile methodologies, Lean Thinking, Scrum principles, Kanban principles, and DevOps practices Deep technical knowledge of HPC and data infrastructure are crucial for the role, including: Strong understanding of high-performance computing architectures such as cluster and grid computing, alongside proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, R,) Familiarity with resource managers or schedulers (e.g., SLURM) and parallel programming frameworks (e.g., MPI, OpenMP) Familiarity with cloud computing in a research environment Experience with data-intensive computing, data pipelines, and workflows in research environments, as well as knowledge of relevant machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) Some understanding of BioIT, Cheminformatics and experience in the pharmaceutical industry (highly desirable) About the Department We are looking for a Senior Product Owner to join our dynamic team in the data science and AI area in early research, located in either the UK or Denmark.
