About the Role
Reporting directly into the Finance Director, you will have overall responsibility for the day to day running of the finance department.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
* Oversee daily bookkeeping activities, including management of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank transactions.
* Production of monthly management accounts with detailed analysis.
* Profit & Loss analysis, including revenue recognition.
* Full ownership of the month end process.
* Year end: Ensuring that the year end accounts are closed off in a timely manner including prepayments and accruals, depreciation & revenue recognition.
* VAT/HMRC and all regulatory payments.
* Continuous improvement of finance workflows and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
The role will be based from our Jarrow office, covering our standard working hours of Monday to Thursday: 8:30am-5:00pm, and Friday: 9:00am-3:00pm with no evenings, no weekends, and an early finish every Friday.
What you'll bring:
Minimum 2 years of experience with the mentioned tasks, preferably within a growth-oriented organisation.
* Recognised chartered accountancy qualification: ACA / ACCA or CIMA.
* Post qualified experience ideally within industry.
* Must have experience of managing a finance team.
* Experience and understanding of Management Accounts, including balance sheet reconciliation.
* Proficient in using financial software and Microsoft Office - predominantly Outlook and Excel & Xero.
* Analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyse data.
* Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to changing demands and can prioritise work effectively.
* Ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
