Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the Trust and Foundations Officer will;
* Support the Head of Philanthropy to develop a dynamic pipeline of new and existing Trusts and Foundations with a clear plan to increase underlying income in line with the Development strategy
* Develop and maintain a rolling programme of bespoke grant applications while building and stewarding long-term relationships with funders
* Draft compelling applications and proposals with clear asks and budgets in line with the Cathedral's priority funding needs, matching funders to the right projects to maximise income and engagement
* Build strong networks and close relationships with grant makers and trustees of Trusts and Foundations, engaging 'Home Team' in relationship development and stewardship plans
* Network and horizon scan to engage with new Trusts and Foundations and identify funding opportunities
The successful candidate will have;
* Trusts fundraising experience with proven track record growing income from Trusts and Foundations
* Strong networking, collaboration and relationship building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others – internally and externally at all levels
* Excellent persuasive writing skills, including experience of producing compelling fundraising proposals, budgets and project concepts
* Understanding of a donor-centric approach, meeting the needs of supporters through excellent engagement, stewardship and recognition based on an equitable approach
