The Best Connection Slough are looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to work at their site in Maidenhead.
The Role:
The Fleet Manager is responsible for running the company’s fleet needs including the management of the company vehicles, hire vehicles, grey fleet & O license Operations (where applicable). The role is to ensure the cost effectiveness and efficient running of the fleet management function whilst adhering to legislative and health and safety requirements and following industry best practice.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain an electronic database of all hires, purchases, registrations, inspections, maintenance, and allocation of vehicles.
2. Be the O license holder and main contact for all O license operations.
3. Schedule all fleet maintenance including MOT and servicing, ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
4. Perform all vehicle registration, insurance and all other formalities and documentation regarding company vehicles and hire vehicles.
5. Manage fleet procurement spend for servicing, maintenance and spare parts
6. Develop and manage supplier relationships including contract negotiation
7. Coordinate the replacement of existing fleets, ensuring environment and cost are considered
8. Ensure vehicle operators are aware of security requirements at all times
9. Carry out driving license checks for employees and contractors required to drive for company vehicles and hire vehicles; ensuring drivers are legally compliant.
10. Streamline and monitor the company fuel purchase system.
11. Plan, prepare and analyse annual expenditures with a look to reduce costs
12. Maintain a record of grey fleet drivers and ensure relevant documentation checks are conducted
13. Management of any fines / penalties received for Company cars and hire vehicles.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
14. Relevant Fleet Manager qualifications (CPC O licence or equivalent) and able to demonstrate recent CPD
15. Previous management experience in logistics, vehicle leasing or transport administration.
16. A self- starter with experience of setting up new systems / processes.
17. Strong awareness and understanding of industry best practice.
18. Strong numerical and analytical skills
19. A full driving licence.
20. Excellent administrative and time management skills
21. Good standard of English communication skills
22. An understanding of vehicle manufacturers’ guidelines and government legislation
23. Good IT Skills including Microsoft Office and Excel
24. A confident negotiator with supplier management experience
25. Hands on, can-do, flexible attitude
26. Flexibility to work unsocial hours including early mornings, late evenings and weekends - when required.
