About the Role: In this role, you will work closely with students who require additional educational and emotional support. You’ll collaborate with teaching staff and SEN professionals to ensure that all pupils feel supported, encouraged and empowered to achieve their best. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with SEN, including autism, speech and language needs, ADHD and social, emotional, or mental health difficulties. Follow and help implement students’ Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Assist teachers in adapting lessons to meet the varying needs of students, ensuring access to the full curriculum. Encourage positive behaviour and support students in developing appropriate social and learning skills. Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting observations to the class teacher and SENCO. Support students during classroom activities, transitions, break times and any educational outings. Maintain a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment at all times. Job Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with SEN in an educational or care setting. A calm, empathetic approach and excellent behaviour management skills. Knowledge of SEN strategies to support students with a range of learning and emotional needs. Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, teachers and parents. A flexible, proactive attitude and the ability to respond to the changing needs of students. Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent are desirable but not essential. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Join GSL Education?
