Great Marlow School is a successful, highly regarded, and popular school. We are looking for a teacher of computing to work with the Head of Department to further develop this department. The position is available to those who are new to the profession or have experience. Although the position would ideally be full time – the school will consider requests for part time employment. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and motivated teacher to join this successful and hardworking department.
Responsibilities
* At Key Stage 3: All students have computing on their timetable. In Year 7 students have one hour of computing a week and in Year 8 and 9, one hour a fortnight. (230 students in each year group)
* At Key Stage 4: GCSE Computing is an option for students
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to command respect in the classroom and inspire all students to realise their potential. Candidates should be confident in using effective strategies to motivate ALL learner groups and in promoting the enjoyment of the subject across all year groups.
The Computing Department is currently led by an experienced leader from the maths department who works closely with an Assistant Headteacher at the school to implement an inclusive and challenging curriculum. The aim of the school is to increase the experience of all students at Key Stage 3 to two hours a fortnight for the academic year 2025/26 and to develop further the curriculum offer at GCSE over the next few years.
