Job summary This post is Fixed term/Secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service. This role requires specialised technical expertise to autonomously lead on the development of national software applications, databases and websites for the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust. The post-holder will help to lead web and applications development and will be responsible for delivering on a range of platforms, designed to ensure that our data-driven solutions integrate and perform to clinical and technical design standards. This will include defining and progressing technical projects for the 111 Wales website, to support the delivery of strategic objectives as outlined by the Trust's Integrated Medium-Term Plan and Digital Strategy. As the technical subject matter expert, the post-holder will be required to provide specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders, and act with autonomy to lead the development team, deputising for the wider leadership team as required. Main duties of the job Collaborative working across the organisation to effectively deliver on technical web & app development projects. Help to lead on development of web-based platforms (including BI / reporting services, self-service portals, internal & public-facing websites), and automation efforts (e.g. using Office 365 PowerApps etc). Be responsible for developing software processes to enable service transformation (e.g. across 111, Clinical Support Desk, 999 and non-emergency transport). Liaise with clinicians, senior leaders and relevant project teams to establish user requirements and business objectives to enhance the Trust's tools, information platforms, and data management systems. Provide training on new developments to technical and non-technical audiences. Advocate for best practice product development, ways of working and user research. Provide technical support to system users for problem solving and maintaining bespoke software applications. Balance the need for adequate software testing and elegant design with the need to fulfill an ambitious strategic plan. Support the Data and ICT departments in the migration to cloud services and development.
