We have an existing team of extremely skilled arborists; this role will give you exposure to lead the team and work on a variety of environmental projects in the rail sector and beyond. We are looking for someone with excellent client relationship skills, commercial awareness, and a natural flair for winning new business.
What We’re Looking For:
As the DeVegetation & Fencing Manager, you will play a key role in driving business growth for the team, managing projects, and leading teams to ensure service delivery to a high standard and safely.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Business Development – Identify new opportunities, expand existing client relationships, and maintain a strong understanding of competitors and market trends.
2. Tender & Quotation Management – Lead the tendering process for the DeVegetation & Fencing department, providing accurate, commercially focused quotes.
3. Client Relationship Management – Build and nurture strong relationships with new and existing clients to build long-term partnerships.
4. Project Leadership – Oversee and manage teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance – Conduct site surveys and setting out while ensuring adherence to railway regulations and quality control procedures.
6. Operational Support – Provide guidance to operatives, ensuring safe and efficient working practices.
7. Reporting & Communication – Attend management meetings in Crewe, report key updates, and escalate any site challenges to the Director.
8. Health, Safety & Environmental Standards – Champion a culture of safety, conduct toolbox talks, and uphold compliance with all industry regulations.

Minimum Requirements:
* Technical knowledge of bid writing would be beneficial.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in the rail or Devegetion environment.
* Experience managing teams and projects.
* Knowledge of railway processes and health & safety standards.
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Driving license is required for this role, due to the travel requirements to client's sites. Company vehicle and fuel card is provided.
