We have an excellent opportunity for a Junior Buyer to join our well-established E-commerce client based in Bradford working within an established and varied category.
This is a hybrid role with two days per week in the office.
Salary: £32,000
Working in a friendly team alongside the Head of Buying, you will be responsible for:
1. Managing and developing supplier relationships.
2. Supporting sourcing strategies that balance both margin and flexibility.
3. Stepping in for the Buyer when needed and staying updated on department performance.
4. Providing insights to the Head of Buying.
5. Maximizing profit and service while reducing overstocks.
6. Developing own-brand and branded ranges based on customer needs and profitability.
7. Creating seasonal product strategies based on sales, customer needs, and market trends.
8. Working with internal teams to set and agree on product strategy and sales targets.
9. Ensuring smooth stock flow by coordinating range plans, stock levels, and pricing with the Merchandiser.
10. Working with QA to ensure products meet quality, safety, and legal standards while meeting deadlines.
11. Helping develop and support Assistant Buyers and the Buying Administrators.
12. Recommending products to Marketing and E-commerce for promotions and content.
13. Setting clear goals for your team, supporting their performance, and providing guidance.
14. Following company policies, UK regulations, and health and safety standards.
About you:
1. Experience working within a previous Buying role.
2. Knowledge and understanding in both retail and online sales.
3. Positive attitude.
4. Excellent communication skills.
5. Ability to work on own initiative.
6. Attention to detail.
7. Strong knowledge of all Microsoft packages including Excel.
