Job Summary:
The Pharmacy Admin Support role is essential in maintaining the administrative functions of the pharmacy. The ideal candidate will assist in various tasks including managing records, handling customer queries, processing payments, and supporting the pharmacist with day-to-day activities. This role is perfect for someone with strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for supporting healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Interaction: Greet and assist customers with general inquiries, either in person or over the phone, providing information on services, products, and prescriptions.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain accurate patient records and prescription documentation.
Process payments and manage the cash register.
Handle phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication.
Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and managing pharmacy stock levels, including placing orders and tracking deliveries.
Prescription Management: Support the pharmacist by preparing and processing prescriptions, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
Data Entry: Accurately input patient and prescription information into the pharmacy’s computer system.
Compliance: Ensure all administrative activities comply with legal and regulatory standards, including patient confidentiality and data protection.
Support Duties: Provide general support to the pharmacy team, including helping with the organization of the workspace and administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
Education: GCSEs or equivalent required; NVQ in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent is a plus.
Experience:
Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role, preferably within a healthcare or pharmacy setting.
Familiarity with pharmacy software and systems is advantageous but not essential.
Skills:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using computers and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Working Hours:
