SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD Support)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a welcoming primary school in the DE23 area.

Role
- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 support)
- Location: DE23, Derby
- Start Date: Immediate start available
- Hours: Full-time, term-time only
Responsibilities
- Provide personalised support to a pupil with ASD in both classroom and school activities.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Create a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Implement positive behaviour management strategies.
- Assist with sensory and emotional regulation as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children with ASD or other special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to challenges.
- A valid DBS check (or a willingness to obtain one).
