Hourly Rate: £18 per hour (Basic) | Overtime: £27 (Mon-Sat) | £36 (Sun/Bank Holidays) Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 7am-3pm | Friday, 7am-2:30pm) Purpose of the Role: We are seeking an experienced Plater to produce fabricated components from detailed engineering drawings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plating operations and a commitment to working safely and efficiently in a high-quality manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ): Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards. Follow all site HSEQ policies and procedures. Promote and apply safe working practices at all times. Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplace. Use and maintain work equipment and protective clothing in an efficient and safe manner. Participate in HSEQ inspections and investigations to ensure continuous improvement. Main Duties: Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure correct specifications. Carry out plating operations in accordance with work instructions. Cut and prepare plates and sections as required. Assemble fabrication work and pass to welders for final assembly. Liaise with inspection and quality teams to maintain production standards. Operate workshop equipment safely and efficiently. Perform slinging duties if trained and competent. Report any defects or material shortages to production supervisors. Assist in the training of apprentices and new employees. Undertake any additional duties as required by supervisors. Expectations: Work to the highest standards of workmanship. Collaborate with the production team to meet project deadlines. Ensure all tolerances and specifications required by the company or client are met. Maintain a professional and compliant approach at all times. Qualifications & Experience: Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent recognised training. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Experience in fabrication and plating operations. Willingness to develop new skills and take on additional training.
