Job Description
Are you an experienced Support Worker looking for a new challenge? We have temporary ad-hoc roles available within various residential homes in and around Pembrokeshire, where you would be supporting children with a variety of needs.
What does the Support Worker role involve?
1. Providing the highest quality care to children we support.
2. Promoting individual’s independence by supporting with a range of educational, social and work-based activities.
3. Supporting children to attend school and engage in fun and stimulating lessons.
4. Working with families and partner organisations to ensure support is personalised to meet individual needs.
5. Using a range of communication methods to assist individuals to make informed day-to-day choices.
6. Maintaining accurate record keeping of all activities, progress, and incidents should they arise.
7. Undertaking general housekeeping duties, plus elements of personal care.
8. Taking ownership to safeguard and protect vulnerable individuals, ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone we support.
What do you need to be a Support Worker?
9. A minimum of 6 months UK paid experience in a similar role.
10. A can-do attitude, caring and reliable nature.
11. Compassion and empathy.
12. Enthusiasm to promote independence & choice.
13. A strong work ethic.
14. Excellent communication.
15. The ability to work flexibly.
16. 23 years of age or older. We believe it is appropriate that there is a gap in age between the children we support and the staff looking after them; that allows us to ensure the best care in the safest environment
Essential criteria:
17. Must be able to drive, hold a full UK driving license and have access to your own car.
18. A minimum of 6 months paid experience in a similar role.
