Your new company:
You will be joining a small but growing business that is relocating to Maidenhead, Berkshire at the beginning of January 2025.
Your new role:
This is a sole charge credit control role that will see you take full responsibility for all billing, collections, and accounts receivable duties. As this role is based in a small company, it is envisioned that the credit controller will also take on other duties within the business as required, such as supporting the MD with administrative tasks and other areas of finance administration. This position is suited to a candidate who likes managing their own varied workload and working with minimal supervision. Key duties will include:
1. Credit checking new customers and setting credit limits
2. Monitoring customer accounts against agreed credit limits and minimising risk to the business
3. Producing accurate invoices
4. Chasing payments by telephone, email, and letter
5. Query and dispute resolution
6. Allocating payments
7. Reconciling accounts
8. Reporting on aged debt
9. Managing the relationship and working closely with the invoice discounting provider
10. Supporting the MD with ad-hoc duties
11. Finance administration
What you'll need to succeed:
You will be an experienced candidate who is confident and has a proven track record of working in a sole-charge credit control/accounts receivable role. You will be keen to take on additional duties and enjoy a varied workload in line with the needs and growth of the business. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage your own workload are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have experience of using Xero. Experience of working in the construction industry would be beneficial, but not essential.
