The Research Analyst is a member of the Zero Waste Scotland's research team, providing expert analytical and research support and advice to all levels of management and Zero Waste Scotland colleagues, as well as key partners and sponsors, to enable them to develop their work effectively through robust research and programme insight, and to monitor progress against targets. This role includes direct analysis in-house and also designing, commissioning, and project managing externally commissioned research; evidence-gathering, and impact assessment work. This role will provide support to a wide range of Zero Waste Scotland programmes, from business support to consumer behaviour change or policy scoping and assessment. This will include identifying where further research or evidence could assist Zero Waste Scotland to maximise delivery effectiveness and impact. We want you if; You are a good communicator with strong interdisciplinary and team working skills and high levels of self-motivation. You have a strong background in specialist quantitative research, for example in statistical data and knowledge management or understanding of economic principles and mechanisms and their application in addressing environmental and social issues. You have experience of carrying out research and evidence gathering including conducting research projects or interdependent packages of research work in transferable contexts. What you'll be doing; Reporting to the Research Manager you will be responsible for providing research, analysis, and evaluation advice and support to Zero Waste Scotland, at project, programme and organisational level, and with external partners and funders when required. You will work closely with delivery programmes to develop and test programme logic and theories of change, and ensure that evidence outputs can directly inform both organisational and funder requirements. This will include disseminating research findings to internal and external stakeholders. You will help to identify areas where further research or evidence would assist Zero Waste Scotland in meeting targets and maximising delivery impacts.
