An exciting opportunity for a Project Accountant to work within a small finance team, reporting to the CFO. This role will primarily be responsible for the management and control of all costs and budgets relating to individual projects, which will be running concurrently. The successful candidate with have considerable experience working on project accounting processes, and a confident understanding of corporate tax calculations and submissions.
Key Duties
· Management and control over costs, expenses and cash flow of individual projects;
· Preparation of monthly management accounts, including detailed analysis of margins by project;
· Monthly and annual reporting of project finances across individual lifespans, to key stakeholders;
· Ensuring robust internal procedures and controls are in place so that cost and inventory data maintained by the business is reliable and accurate;
· Month end reconciliations and general ledger entries;
· Liaising with auditors as required and assistance in the preparation of the annual financial statements;
· Management of corporate tax (UK and USA).
· Regular tax filings such as the quarterly VAT return and P11d preparation;
· Foreign currency dealing, administration and accounting; and
· Other ad-hoc work as required.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
· Qualified, ACCA/CIMA or equivalent (at least 3 years post qualification experience);
· Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment and familiarity with costing concepts and Bill of Material structures;
· Project Accounting experience
· Experience as a project manager, or working closely with project managers;
· Excellent communication skills;
· Strong IT skills with excellent knowledge of excel; and
· Self-motivated with an enquiring mind and desire for excellence.
Desirable:
· Previous experience of working with Epicor ERP system; and
· Has worked closely with a multi-disciplinary team across all functions within the business (e.g. sales, engineering, procurement, stores and factory).
