Overview of role: Working with the class teacher to support children in and out of the classroom. The type of tasks may involve taking small groups for additional learning, setting up and clearing away activities, supervising lunches and outdoor play. Key details: Hours: Monday to Friday (8.15 am to 3.45pm), 32.5 hours per week Term-time only (39 weeks per year) Wage: £6.40 per hour Location: Suffolk Road, Stapenhill, Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, DE15 9HR Apprenticeship details: Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification Duration of course: 16 months Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated No 1 Training Provider in the UK) All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside role. Full Duties and Responsibilities: Work with individual students or small groups of students in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff. Support students to understand instructions, promote independent learning, and encourage inclusion for all students. Assist the teacher in behavior management and help keep students on task. Support students' social and emotional well-being, reporting issues to the teacher as appropriate. Prepare and organize the learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing, displaying, and presenting student work and teaching materials as directed by the teacher. Record basic student data. Facilitate student learning through play. Organize and supervise games and activities. Assist in escorting students on educational visits. Invigilate exams and tests. Support students with eating, dressing, and hygiene needs as required, while encouraging independence. Supervise students during transitions between lessons and when entering and leaving the school site. Provide first aid, subject to appropriate training.
