Job Overview
As our business is steadily expanding, we now require a Purchasing Assistant, who is detail oriented, to join our team based at our office in Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent.
The ideal candidate will assist in procuring goods and services for our business, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisitions.
This is an exciting new role for our company, working with an enthusiastic workforce, with lots of opportunities to grow and develop as our business grows.
We are looking for someone who has the ability to multi-task within the business where required.
You will be responsible for:
* Monitoring stock levels & placing orders when required
* Raising purchase orders, ensuring all details are correct
* Developing and nurturing relationships with suppliers
* Negotiating the best prices and contracts with suppliers old and new
* Maintaining supplier records
* Liaising with our suppliers to ensure that delivery schedules align with business needs
* Maintaining accurate pricing and purchase records
* Communicating with the relevant teams, should there be an issue with delivery of supplies
* Invoice reconciliation and confirming orders to ensure that we receive the correct supplies
* Supporting logistics and supply chain for the business
* Reviewing market trends to assist with identifying potential suppliers, comparing who can offer the best product at the most competitive price
* Ad hoc duties as required
Another key area of the role includes our Transport processes. You will be responsible for coordinating with transportation companies to ensure that our business needs are met. This could include but is not limited to, sourcing hire vans, securing the best price for any mechanical work that our own fleet requires etc
Experience
The successful candidate should ideally possess:
* Experience in an administrative role. If this is based in purchasing/procurement that would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided.
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Ability to work to strict deadlines
* Strong & effective negotiation skills
* Ability to accurately record data
* Excellent numerical skills
* Ability to learn quickly
* Team player, working collaboratively with a number of teams within the business
* Ability to communicate at all levels with great interpersonal skills
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* Confidence when working with computers, experience of G suite is beneficial

This position is full time, working 35 hours per week.
Salary: £22,000-26,000+ Per annum depending on experience
SALARY IS NEGOTIABLE AND DEPENDENT ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
