Salary: £35,116 to £37,174 with progression to £45,413 per annum

The role
Reporting into the Network Manager, the Network Analyst position is key in ensuring the smooth functioning of Newcastle University’s computer network for academics, students, and professional services users. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and support of network services across the University estate. This role will be involved in both the support of the existing network and the transition into operations of a new state-of-the-art network.
Responsibilities
1. Supporting, troubleshooting, and configuring all aspects of Newcastle University’s network services
2. Delivering against agreed priorities and SLAs
3. Liaising with 3rd party suppliers
4. Working closely with other NUIT departments such as Cyber Security, Platform & Services, and Datacentre Operations to ensure smooth delivery of services which depend on the network
About you
We seek an IT professional with a broad understanding of network technologies. To succeed in this role, you should possess:
1. The ability to work with a team of network engineers
2. A desire to deliver high-quality support to enable others to do their jobs
3. Experience of physically installing and configuring network devices
4. Previous experience supporting networks, ideally across multiple sites
5. Experience working with an ITSM system
6. The ability to manage several competing priorities and deliver on time
7. A keenness to learn new skills and systems
