JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
This position is in the Mechanical and Materials Engineering (MME) and works with the Autonomous Vehicle Mobility Institute (AVMI). This position is to support applied research on the development and application of off-road autonomous vehicle mobility. It involves working with an interdisciplinary team of world-class engineers, students, and scientists in the area of autonomous vehicles mobility. The Assistant Research Professor position requires a PhD degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, and is expected to lead and contribute to:
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Autonomous Driving System: Real-Time Control of Maneuver and Energy Efficiency, and Dynamic Path Planning Strategy Based Visual Sensoring
2. Assessment and Virtualization of Tire-Soil Interactions for Real-Time Evaluation and Control of Autonomous Vehicle Mobility
3. Rotation Kinematics Sensor for a Fully Electric Vehicle: Multi-Domain Modeling, Hardware Prototyping and Experimental Research
4. Fully Electric Virtual Vehicle Demonstrator with Distributed Driveline and Suspension Systems
5. Electrically-Driven Wheel Locomotion Module Virtual Demonstrator with Agile Sensoring
6. Mobility and Energy Efficiency Improvement of An Unmanned Ground Vehicle with Individually Controlled Wheels
7. Use of AR, VR, and MR for real-time simulation.
