A great opportunity has become available within the Unipart Logistics Security Department for a Security Team Leader to join our in-house team at Magna Park, near Lutterworth.
Key Tasks
To lead and oversee the Guarding Team to ensure compliance with all security duties as laid out in the Security Assignment Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
Key Accountabilities
Working as part of the security team, to lead and manage the team in order to ensure the provision of a safe and secure working environment for the client, customers, colleagues and visitors through the protection of their people, property, assets and reputation. This will be achieved by ensuring compliance to all Site Instructions, Site Safety Procedures and Unipart Security Processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage the Security Team to ensure compliance with all Security Processes and Procedures as laid out by the Security Operations Manager.
2. Provide a courteous, professional and welcoming atmosphere for all clients, their representatives and visitors to the company.
3. Ensure the highest level of customer care is always adhered to.
4. Demonstrate a can-do attitude towards individual customer requests and strive to exceed customer expectations.
5. Build positive collaborative relationships with internal / external stakeholders.
6. Assist in preventing acts of violence, crime or disorder and investigate incidents of theft, criminal damage, etc.
7. Provide and monitor Access Control (Pedestrian and Vehicular).
8. Search staff, visitors and contractors.
9. Adhere to the Safe Systems of work as described in the Standard Operating Procedures and Site Risk Assessments.
10. Report HSE hazards, accidents, incidents, illness and diseases to your line manager.
11. Assist where required with Incident Response, Investigations and Reporting.
12. Conduct Officer’s appraisals, probationary and performance reviews.
13. Develop the Site Security Team via Training Plans and Personal Development Plans.
14. Monitor, record and report absence on site.
15. Efficiently deliver high standards throughout the team and strive for continuous improvement, ensuring efficiencies are driven on site, utilising resources available.
16. Contribute to the high-quality customer focused manned guarding service by ensuring compliance within the Security Team. Update and coordinate Site Security Schedules and Rosters to ensure service delivery at all times.
Hours of Work:
* 0600 to 1800 hours - Monday to Friday.
Essential
* Valid Frontline SIA Licence (SG / DS / CP).
* Ability to pass BS 7858 vetting (full 5-year checkable history).
* Proven minimum 5+ years’ demonstrable experience within the Security Industry.
* Proven minimum 2+ year’s demonstrable experience within a Supervisory or Management position.
* Self-Starter who is self-organised and self-motivated.
* Good Level of Physical Fitness (ability to stand for a period of time and conduct foot patrols).
* Professional Can-Do attitude with high level of Honesty & integrity.
* Excellent communication skills – written, oral and face to face.
* Ability to build strong working relationships and can motivate the Security Team.
* Good numerical and literacy skills.
* Good Level of PC literacy, in particular Word / Excel / PPT / Google Workspace.
Desirable
* Valid FAAW Certificate.
* Valid NEBOSH or IOSH Certificate.
* ILM Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Leadership or Management.
* Experience working in High-Value Secure Environments.
