The Cloud Architect will be responsible for ownership, design and implementation of Infrastructure/platforms on AWS or other cloud platforms. This role will be part of the Cloud Architect team. The post holder will work closely with other technical specialists in supporting new platforms as they are deployed. The post holder will ensure appropriate designs are fully scalable, resilient and cost optimised while ensuring a stable service delivery for internal customers and citizens. The Cloud Architect will undertake continuous improvement activities to optimise cost and performance. This role presents a unique opportunity to work as a Cloud Architect. The successful applicant, will get in early on this high profile public sector endeavour and will be key in shaping the greenfield solution for the new platform and in future extensions/enhancements to its systems. Job description Design effective cloud first solutions and networks that support cutting-edge service design. Demonstrate your ability to influence and work collaboratively across a broad matrix of specialists and experts. Articulately present designs and solutions at the highest level and in a compelling manner. Work closely with security colleagues to define highly available, resilient, scalable and fault tolerant end-to-end solution architecture. Work with a diverse supplier landscape to select and maximise the value of cutting-edge technology, as well as the latest policies and principles. Network and collaborate externally with likeminded professionals as a representative of the organisation. Utilise public cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure to host and enable line of business applications and services. Person specification Essential Experience A strong understanding of cloud platform services (ideally AWS) including cloud management, data infrastructure and platform architecture. Experience working under security-related frameworks and best practice. Demonstrable design knowledge should include (but not limited to) cloud enabled security capabilities in some of the following areas: Identity and Access, Privileged Access Management, CI/CD Pipeline Security, Monitoring, Audit and Response, DevOps Orchestration Security Controls.
