We are looking for hard working and enthusiastic Chefs to join the kitchen team.
Mill & Brae is a modest in size, independent multipurpose hotel venue encompassing restaurant, bar, bedrooms, function and event spaces.
Our Chefs are responsible for supporting the Head Chef and with day to day running of the kitchen in the following areas:
* Daily food preparation and food service as directed.
* Ensuring Food Safety & Health and safety requirements are adhered to within the kitchen.
* Ensuring the hygienic, safe, and correct use of equipment and utensils
* Assisting the Head chef with food ordering, food deliveries, stock take and menu planning as required.
Hours
We have a full and part time position available, and are flexible on hours worked, providing the successful candidate have full and flexible availability.
Key Competencies / Requirements
* Excellent timekeeping
* Reliable
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience at CDP level within a busy, past paced kitchen
* Motivated, passionate, and driven
* Knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment and best practices
* A clean and effective work ethic
* Works well as part of a team, with the ability to work on your own with initiative at times
* Ability to ensure the smooth execution of all kitchen operations in a timely manner
* Knowledge and understanding of all Health & Safety, Environmental Health, COSHH, and HACCP legislation, guidelines, and due diligence
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £13.25-£14.75 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 48 per week
